Realized together with Catherine Baudet, BIBA’s Beauty Editor in Chief, this collab’ gave carte blanche to four talents from the Calliste agency: Marie Duhart, Fred Farrugia, Lili Choi and Gregoris. Over a one month period, these high flying artists are going to show you how to appropriate the season’s strongest trends.
This week, it’s the talented Marie Duhart who talks about her look inspired by the color red. A very desirable color, which she uses to create a total look that’s super wearable. The hair is done beautifully by Tomoko Ohama and Christina Conrad does the manicure.
A huge thank you to Catherine Baudet for her write up in BIBA…
Red by Marie Duhart
Stéphane Marais’s former assistant and a favorite of Paolo Roversi, the stunningly luminous Marie is an adept of simplicity and surprise. Her thing consists of taking a trend that’s not necessarily easy to wear (such as the total look in red) and making it not just desirable for daily wear but also easy to recreate with a minimum of products (and experience).
Is red a difficult color to use on the eyes? No, not for Marie:
I prepare Chinhsi’s skin (Marilyn Agency) to give her a lovely fresh complexion. I finish this by lightly powdering in order to create a contrast with the shine of the eyes and lips when they have been made up with lipstick. I apply brown eye pencil along the base of the upper lashes and a touch of mascara. The idea is to give structure and strength to the eyes, not to be able to see the color. Next, there are two possibilities: either I work solely with a satiny, transparent lipstick in a color ranging from rose to red. I apply the product directly onto the eyelid and on the lips, before blotting with my fingers for a better finish. A vivid look that’s super easy to touch up at any moment with just a lipstick in your pocket. The other alternative is that I opt for matte, like in the image, and I use a red eyeshadow with a red lipstick. A chic, rock look that’s got some real bite!”
