It’s been a rather special day at the ByCalliste Studio!
French actress Julie Gayet is a famously discreet person who rarely gives interviews. She has several strings to her bow: not only has she been very busy as an actress but she is also a producer, heading up a production company called Rouge International. She’s also committed to various causes, working with several charities.
But above all, Julie is a lovely woman who is both sweet and determined.
We chatted about her latest work, including her role in the film We are Family (French title: C’est quoi cette famille?) by Gabriel Julien-Laferrière, which came out in France this summer, and the film Marion, forever 13 (French title: Marion 13 pour toujours), which was shown on French TV channel France 3 on 27th September.
Wearing another hat, as head of her production company, Julie the committed producer talks about her latest project, La Taularde, in which the main role is played brilliantly by Sophie Marceau. A gem of a film, this is a strong role for the hugely talented actress, directed by Audrey Estrougo.
Julie is a woman committed to a worthy and humanitarian cause. She has worked tirelessly to raise awareness about endometriosis, with the charity Info endométriose. This little-known illness affects as many as 10-20% of women in France.
Julie confides in us about her vision of beauty, talking about her own simple style and the chameleon-like world of acting, with plenty of anecdotes for us!
Today, Julie will be in the expert hands of the great make up artist Fred Farrugia, her hair will be done by hair stylist Seb Bascle and Christina Conrad will take care of her nails.
This is to be a three stage transformation, captured on camera by Fabrice Laroche, which you can check out online from Friday 16th September on ByCalliste!
On behalf of everyone at ByCalliste, thank you, dearest Julie, this was a truly lovely encounter.
